Conduct risk assessments to mitigate hazards to personnel, hardware, and facilities.
Establish clean and etch processes for a wide range of materials.
Support design reviews including CDR, CoDR, and PDR.
Apply Lean principles (e.g., Kaizen, 3P, VSM) and process certification to improve manufacturing effectiveness.
Lead process improvement initiatives aligned with strategic manufacturing goals.
Develop Basis of Estimates (BOEs) and present manufacturing plans, proposals, and risk assessments to leadership.
Evaluate supplier capabilities based on technical repeatability, quality compliance, cost structures, and process reliability.
Precision Machining Oversight – 5%
Define tight tolerance machining requirements, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) aligned with manufacturing and inspection methods.
Welding Process Development – 5%
Develop welding methods for complex assemblies across various materials.
Identify tooling needs and ensure dimensional requirements are met during the welding process.
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline, with 4–6 years of manufacturing experience.
OR Master’s degree with 2+ years of experience.
OR, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of relevant hands-on experience.
Practical knowledge of project and process management.
Proficiency in CAD tools, virtual manufacturing platforms, and MS Office applications.
Experience with mechanical manufacturing in high-reliability environments such as aerospace or defense. Essential Skills
Strong verbal and written communication, including public speaking.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks across value streams.
Effective team-building and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.
Passion for continuous improvement and innovation in manufacturing processes.
Why This Role? This is a great opportunity for a mid-level manufacturing engineer to contribute to cutting-edge aerospace hardware development. The role offers hands-on involvement in hardware fabrication and real impact on production outcomes. You'll be part of a team where your technical input and problem-solving skills help shape the success of key aerospace initiatives.
