Job Description


We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support high-priority defense production programs at a major manufacturing facility in Camden, Arkansas. In this role, you'll serve as the Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) for one or more programs in production, taking charge of real-time decision-making related to non-conformances, yield improvement, and process optimization.

This position supports one or more of the following advanced programs: PAC-3, Mk 72, Mk 104, ATACMS, GMLRS, Javelin, MIR, Stinger, and GEM-T.

What You’ll Do

As a Sr. Project Engineer, you'll represent the engineering organization on the production floor, working cross-functionally with design, quality, manufacturing, and program management teams. You’ll be empowered to make critical technical decisions to keep production on track and ensure engineering integrity is upheld.

Key Responsibilities:
  • 40% – Manage Real-Time Non-Conformance Issues:
  • Evaluate in-process hardware for scrap, rework, or repair. Coordinate with quality and engineering to ensure timely resolutions that align with program goals.
  • 40% – Process Optimization and Yield Improvement:

Lead initiatives to reduce waste and enhance productivity. Contribute to technical data package integration, DFMEA/PFMEA risk updates, key characteristic (KC) classification, and manufacturing readiness level (MRL) improvements in support of annual operating plans.
  • 10% – Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action:

Provide factory-specific technical insights to enable root cause analysis and systemic corrective actions in collaboration with the Quality team.Contribute to the design and testing of new systems, procedures, and equipment that improve production efficiency.What You Bring Required Qualifications:
  • 10% – Support Equipment and Process Development:

 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with at least 6 years of related experience, or
  • Master’s degree with at least 4 years of experience, or
  • 10+ years of relevant engineering experience in lieu of a degree
  • Deep knowledge of product design and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to assess and disposition non-conforming hardware on the production line
  • Proficient in interpreting technical documentation and leading root cause/corrective action processes
  • Understanding of industry-standard engineering and manufacturing tools, processes, and principles
  • Familiarity with Systems Engineering, Requirements Management, and Risk/Opportunity analysis
  • Ability to work onsite and engage in hands-on production support

Preferred Skills:
  • Proficiency in CAD, GD&T, and engineering analysis tools
  • Experience with RCCA, DFMEA, PFMEA, and MRB processes
  • Prior work in propulsion systems, component testing, or defense manufacturing
  • Six Sigma certification and lean manufacturing experience
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across diverse teams
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
