We are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer to support mechanical component manufacturing, assembly, and integration of rocket engine and power systems products. This is a hands-on, onsite role that offers the chance to contribute directly to advanced aerospace technologies in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
What You’ll Do
You will be responsible for planning and developing manufacturing processes related to mechanical components and assemblies. This includes creating layout designs, establishing fabrication workflows, specifying materials, and optimizing assembly operations. You’ll also play a role in supporting new or evolving processes that can be applied across multiple programs.

Your work will involve a blend of independent tasks and team collaboration, with responsibilities expanding based on performance and experience. You will communicate primarily within your team, exchanging technical information and working toward consensus on processes and improvements.
Key Responsibilities

Process Development & Implementation (25%)

  • Define and implement fabrication and assembly methods, especially precision turning for complex geometries across various materials.

  • Determine tooling, handling, machining, and protective processes.

  • Conduct risk assessments and determine cleaning/etching processes.

  • Participate in design reviews such as CDR, CoDR, and PDR.

Project & Process Management (20%)

  • Lead manufacturing efforts using Lean principles (Kaizen, 3P, VSM, etc.).

  • Prepare Basis of Estimates (BOEs) and develop strategic plans to meet customer and business objectives.

  • Assess supplier capabilities for technical and compliance reliability.

Precision Machining Oversight (5%)

  • Determine geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to meet tight tolerance machining specifications and ensure tooling compatibility.

Welding Process Support (5%)

  • Develop welding processes for complex materials and configurations.

  • Specify tooling and dimensional requirements to support high-quality welds.
What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with 0–2 years of relevant experience OR 4+ years of hands-on manufacturing experience in lieu of a degree.

  • Strong familiarity with machining, assembly, and welding practices.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proven organizational and multitasking ability.

  • Strong team collaboration skills and the ability to work independently.

  • A passion for continuous improvement and Lean methodologies.

This opportunity is ideal for candidates who thrive in technical environments and are eager to play a critical role in advanced manufacturing processes.
