The programs that we support in Huntsville, Alabama include Ground-based Midcourse Defense, precision-guided munitions, and Integrated Air & Missile Defense products (PAC-3, Avenger, ABMD); Missile Defense Agency National Team (Systems Engineering, C2BMC), and Strategic Deterrence Systems (which includes Minuteman ICBM support and guidance system repair).

The PCB Design Engineer will be responsible for creating detailed PCB designs and release of complete PCB technical data/documentation packages for production. (Printed Circuit Board: PCB is considered synonymous with the term Printed Wiring Board: PWB)

Primary Responsibilities:
* Work from engineering concept to final drawings
* Create electrical schematic drawings for PCB/PWBs
* Create PCBs/PWBs - design, parts placement, routing, dimensioning/tolerancing, and drawing generation
* Establish and document complete PCB/PWB specifications. (Need to have good understanding of PCB/PWB fabrication processes and industry standards such as those from IPC)
* Provide technical expertise in selection of PCB/PWB materials and technologies
* Provide technical oversite of PCB/PWB supplier selection, verification, and continuous improvement efforts

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. secret clearance POST START

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
* Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in ELECTRICAL, ELECTRONIC, OR COMPUTER ENGINEERING
* Minimum of 2 years of experience with PCB/PWB design
* Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
* Experience in electrical computer aided design (CAD) tools for schematic capture and layout such as Expedition/Mentor Graphics
* Design experience with radio frequency (RF), digital, analog, and/or mixed-signal PCB/PWBs
* High Density Interconnect PCB/PWB design experience
* Experience in selection of advanced PCB/PWB materials and design rules
* Understanding of PCB/PWB manufacturing processes, and experience with PCB/PWB Design-for-Manufacturability (DFM) and Design-for-Assembly (DFA) analysis tools and/or processes
* Experience with mechanical CAD tools to facilitate the import/export of mechanical information

Education:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
