Engineering Technician
Location: San Jose, CA
Hourly rate: $30.00 - $36.00
Contractor benefits: Medical, Vision, Dental, 401k

Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to become part of Nanopore Platform Development group. The Wafer Technician will be required to directly support and primary routine lab equipment and process & testing support, utilizing their experience in MEMS and semiconductor fabs to ensure a robust product line.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
•    Perform engineering experiments by following instructions.
•    Process and test wafers and parts using defined procedures.
•    Perform visual inspections.
•    Operate testing instrument and inspection equipment (optical microscope, SEM, etc.) and interpret results.
•    Review Statistical Process Control charts for process quality and react to Out of Control conditions including defect troubleshooting.
•    Recover from process and tool interruptions.
•    Use standard software applications and specific programs creating reports and documenting procedures.
•    Identify and address potential areas for improvement and optimize tool availability, cycle time, utilization and cost.
•    Complete all required reporting and documentation.
•    Understand and follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures and requirements.
•    Actively participate in continuous improvement processes and on the Emergency Response Team.
•    Train new team members.
•    Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and REQUIREMENTS:
•    High School Degree (or equivalent) with 5 years of relevant experience.
•    Experience with wafer manufacturing and assembly of complex electro-mechanical devices, preferably of a microfluidic, biological lab-on-a-chip purpose a plus.
•    Strong team player with ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team environment.
•    Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
•    Exceptional detail-oriented execution of job function required.
•    Ability to work independently and with others as a team.
•    Ability to work in a cleanroom environment per semi-conductor protocol/requirements.

Must be U.S. Person for purposes of Export Compliance.
