Contract Facilities – Space Planning Assistant Location: El Segundo Campus | On-Site | Temporary Assignment
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Space Planning Assistant to support facilities operations at a vibrant and fast-paced corporate campus. This temporary role is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for workplace design, space optimization, and project coordination. If you enjoy contributing to behind-the-scenes logistics that help spaces run efficiently and look great, this could be the perfect fit. Key Responsibilities:
Space Planning Support:
Assist in creating workspace layouts and tracking employee occupancy to support in-house space planning for the El Segundo campus.
Furniture & Reconfiguration Planning:
Help develop drawings for furniture installations and office reconfigurations. Contribute to planning functional and efficient workspace designs.
Work Order Coordination:
Create and manage Facilities Work Orders to address team requests and ensure timely support of workplace and facilities projects.
Move Coordination:
Assist in coordinating department and employee relocations, ensuring logistics are managed smoothly and with minimal disruption.
Design Application:
Apply basic principles of workplace planning and interior design to help create safe, user-friendly, and productive spaces.
Project Management – Small Scale:
Manage small office refresh projects and furniture installations, overseeing timelines, vendors, and successful execution.
Purchasing Support:
Conduct research and place orders for furniture, equipment, and supplies needed to support workplace upgrades or department moves.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with departments like IT, Security, and Workplace Services to ensure cohesive operations and successful project outcomes.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of experience in Facilities, Workplace Planning, or a related area.
Strong multitasking and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
Proficient in AutoCAD—required for developing layouts and installation drawings.
Experience with CAFM (Computer-Aided Facilities Management) systems is highly preferred.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
Team player with solid interpersonal and collaboration skills, comfortable working with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong documentation and follow-through.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Facilities Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
