Job Description:
Light construction/remodeling such as carpeting, drywall, cove base, etc. within an office building.
Work in teams under observation of a security monitor.
Small project types change day-to-day but all in the same facility.
Skills Required:
Ability to lift 35 pounds, carpentry experience of 3+ years, able to work on knees and above head for extended period of time, conscious of sound safety practices.
General knowledge of building codes, regulations and safety procedures. With limited supervision, constructs commercial office space by providing overall construction capabilities. Is familiar with building codes and is able to read more complex blueprints. Responds to trouble calls and resolves a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Repairs and maintains plant and office facilities equipment and demonstrates advanced skill level in these areas. Is able to interpret basic schematics and diagrams. May provide guidance to less experienced employees. Under general guidance, reviews customer requirements and may evaluate product capabilities. Has demonstrated ability to use a variety of hand and power tools to construct, renovate and repair facilities and equipment. May receive specialized equipment training. May provide training to peers and/or customers on the general use of equipment.
