Laboratory Workflow IT Migration Specialist
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Pay Rate: $26.11 - $47.35 per hour (based on education and experience.
Description:
In this position you will play a key role in the successful delivery of laboratory IT middleware migration and upgrade activities with a focus on central/remote tasks (configuration & testing). You will work closely together with global, regional and local laboratory IT specialists with the goal of accelerating the migration of lab middleware IT solutions to the newest Roche middleware solution (cobas infinity central lab). You will become a member of the global migration execution team, located in the US and with a focus on the migration of US customers. Although a majority of your activities will be performed remotely you should also be willing to visit customers and perform on-site activities on an occasional basis.
The migration of legacy IT solutions represents the starting point to facilitate the future evolution of Roche IT solutions.
Main tasks and responsibilities
We are looking for a Laboratory IT Specialist for the migration of IT middleware solutions to the newest IT middleware solution.
Your key tasks:
Execution of migration activities (remotely or on-site) - mainly configuration and testing of customer specific setups that includes rules & workflows (incl. autoverification, QC, etc) - in alignment and in close collaboration with global, regional and local teams
With your knowledge of laboratory workflows you understand customer needs and build a bridge between customer and technical departments like development and 2nd level support to ensure fast resolution of customer requests. You provide technical product support to customer service teams during the testing and hypercare phase
You actively contribute to continuous improvement by evaluating effectiveness and efficiency of performed migration activities.
You apply defined standards and further develop best practices by actively addressing and sharing lessons learned.
You actively contribute to define requirements packages for the further development of tools, processes, standardization and products.
You maintain contact and ensure professional communication with various local, regional and global stakeholders in order to achieve a high standard of customer satisfaction.

Bachelor degree in IT or education as Lab Technician with IT background with several years of experience in laboratory workflows, or equivalent professional work experience including clinical laboratory instrument (chemistry, immunology, hematology, molecular diagnostics).
Minimum 2 years of experience working with Data Innovations Solution (e.g. definition of test & workflow rules), additional experience in working with advantage. infinity lab or any other laboratory IT middleware system would be an added advantage
Ideally more than 2 years of experience in Lab Organization (Medical Lab Technician, Lab Manager) and Hospital, IT Networks, Interfaces and Database.
Experience with HIS/LIS, ASTM, HL7, and communications protocol in general.
Strong communication skills and proficiency in verbal and written English is essential.
Explicit problem solving attitude as well as experience with working in a customer oriented way in an interdisciplinary environment.

Working in a customer-oriented and international environment motivates you and you are open to travel (up to 20%).
