Contract Maintenance Technician – Equipment Support (Onsite Role) Location: Onsite – Local Candidates Only Industry: Manufacturing
We’re looking for a Maintenance Technician to support production and test equipment in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This onsite contract position involves preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on both automated and semi-automated machinery. The role requires a hands-on problem solver with a strong mechanical and electrical foundation who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting. Key Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance and inspections according to operating procedures, manuals, and specifications
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment issues with minimal downtime
Disassemble machinery and replace defective components
Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and adhere to cGMP/QS compliance standards
Communicate with production and engineering teams to ensure equipment is functioning optimally and production goals are met
Provide after-hours support when necessary and respond promptly to equipment emergencies
Apply root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies to improve reliability
Follow all company safety policies, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
Keep work areas clean and organized in compliance with safety and housekeeping standards
Support routine and shutdown maintenance efforts in collaboration with engineering and manufacturing
Qualifications Education:
Associate’s Degree preferred, especially in a STEM-related field
Experience:
1–3 years of relevant maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
Required Skills & Knowledge:
Basic understanding of industrial process instrumentation and automation
Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic schematics
Skilled in the use of testing equipment such as digital voltmeters, precision weight scales, and ISO calibrators
Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic, and electronic systems
Familiarity with hand tools and mechanical systems
Proficient with Google Workspace and SAP
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Flexible schedule and willingness to work outside regular hours when needed
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
Capable of interpreting written, oral, diagram, or schedule-based instructions
