Job Description:


The Medical Scientific Liaison is a key field-based role that brings our Neurology strategy to life for clinicians and lab stakeholders. You bring a clinical and scientific lens to everything you do. You are the primary interface between the Core Lab MSA team and the target stakeholders, effectively and proactively delivering knowledge to patients/clinicians/lab partners within your assigned geographic region.

You will work hand in hand with the technical-minded Scientific Partner and medical/clinical-minded Disease Area Partner to develop the technical and clinical focus for our integrated strategic medical plan for Neurology leveraging external stakeholder generated insights/needs to ensure faster access with better outcomes for more patients. You will also facilitate and develop the relationships with key members of the medical/scientific community and laboratory organizations serving as a consistent liaison for these high value stakeholders.

Therapeutic area: Neurology - disease state and fluid biomarkers, Elecsys in vitro diagnostic and/or research for use only products - mainly but not limited to Alzheimers Disease (AD)

Regional position: Remote (Southeast, Southwest, Midwest, Northeast)

Educational responsibilities:

Understand and keep abreast of medical and scientific knowledge in neurology as pertinent to this job.

Educate various audiences e.g. clinicians, laboratorians on disease state and Roche neurology products, mainly on Alzheimers blood based biomarkers at targeted institutions.

Emphasize education at the primary care physician level on AD pathway, early diagnosis and biomarkers.

Work with internal stakeholders as needed to address inquiries about all Elecsys neurology products.

Prepare, update and present educational materials as needed.

Provide expertise in summarizing medical and scientific information.

Presenting appropriate clinical and scientific information to healthcare providers in response to unsolicited requests (as appropriate) in a fair and balanced manner

Providing medical and scientific education relative to disease state and Roche products to healthcare providers

Supporting product launches through HCP education for adequate use of our diagnostics

Engagement responsibilities:

Building relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and local customers, providing scientific insights, and ensuring that KOLs are well-informed about the company's products and pipeline.

Develop and enhance professional relationships with medical thought leaders to support both Roche approved products and those in various phases of development

Identifying key thought leaders and establishing, fostering, cultivating, and maintaining relationships with healthcare providers (HCPs) in academic and community centers within assigned territory

Developing and executing territory plans in alignment with regional, national, and global Medical Affairs strategies
Providing insights/feedback on emerging scientific/clinical data that enhance the value and appropriate use of Roche products as part of compliant collaboration with internal stakeholders

Support conference planning & engagement activities incl. synthesis of insights reports within specified deliverable timeframes

Engage with internal (medical, field, marketing, operations) and external stakeholders (e.g., clinicians, laboratorians, organizations) to set up scientific events such as symposia, webinars, AdBoards, etc as established in the medical plan

Attend local and regional conferences to gather input and engage with regional Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), community physicians, etc.

Assist in defining, planning and executing various tactical activities as appropriate (advisory boards, publication, evidence generation initiatives, conference reports,etc)

Collaborate with IMT team to support the regular review, identification and synthesis of customer/disease area trends & associated actions based on documented interaction entries/insights

Gather insights to inform the internal stakeholders

Collaborate with clinical specialists to ensure they have the medical support needed for customers/customer activities.

Seek opportunities to reflect and improve on the collection and communication of customer insights (i.e. insightful questioning, active listening, insight synthesis etc)

Qualifications:

Advanced scientific or medical degree (PhD, MD, PharmD, MSN, BSN) + 3-5 years of related clinical/practice/industry experience

Significant clinical and/or industry experience in relevant therapeutic area may be accepted in lieu of education requirements

Ability to develop and maintain collegial relationships with Physicians, Nurses, Laboratory and other healthcare Professionals

Ability to lead, direct, influence and empower multi-discipline teams and individuals in a matrixed organization

Strong communication skills

Strong moral and ethical values

Ability to work independently but also collaboratively

Office: home based/ remote position in a specific geographic location

Must be willing to travel up to 75% of the time

The candidate must live in the territory or willing to self-relocate within the territory; expected to be on the ground with customers and attend key conferences/meetings as needed.

Ability to actively listen and process information to identify opportunities

Good understanding of the biotechnology/pharma industry and medicine/science

Fluent in English

Preferred Qualifications

1+ years of MSL experience in diagnostics or pharmaceutical industries

Basic understanding of Neurology required; experience in the field of Alzheimers Disease diagnostics preferred
Must be U.S. Person for purposes of Export Compliance.
