Contract position
Shift:  1st, 5/40
Hours:  8:00am to 5:00pm

Pay Rate:  $60.00/Hr.

*potential travel to Hartford CT, Phoenix AZ, and Bangalore India

Description/Comment:  Quality Assurance Engineer
This role will be for a quality assurance/process engineer with a background in manufacturing process design and advanced product quality planning tools. This individual will be working onsite at a supplier 5 days a week and must have a background in establishing quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes. Utilizing process and product performance data, the contracted individual will work with client's design and supplier quality engineers along with supplier personnel to investigate and resolve product test and manufacturing performance issues.

Primary Responsibilities:  Quality Assurance Engineer
* Engage with team to understand robustness of manufacturing process, process controls, and documentation.
* Establish and/or update PFMEAs and work with supplier in developing proper risk mitigation and control plans.
* Evaluate incoming raw material requirements, assessments / inspections, and controls.
* Review and understand inspection and test capabilities and repeatability (MSAs)
* Drive improved test repeatability through improved work instructions and requirements, standardization of processes at BLR, PHX, Trelleborg.
* Assess engineering drawing and specifications against existing testing for capability.
* Evaluate manufacturing equipment & tooling for condition, capability, and proper settings.
* Review and help establish studies to determine process drivers (i.e. DOEs) and causes for variability
* Develop action plan with supplier for improvements.
* Ensure closure of actions and assess process to ensure process capability.
* Witness acceptance testing of product to validate reliability and reproducibility of results.
* Use historic data to determine focus areas for investigation and improvement, controlled build activity / Manufacturing Process Reviews, capability studies.
* Brief Collins team on progress, and escalate issues or non-responsiveness in real time to get help
Required Skills:  Quality Assurance Engineer
* Strong problem-solving skills and knowledge of problem-solving tools
* Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across functions and with supplier.
* Ability to research problems, develop solutions and present possible solutions for implementation.
* Strong problem-solving skills and knowledge of problem-solving tools
* Print reading experience.
* Process control and audit understanding and experience.

Desired Skills:  Quality Assurance Engineer
Possess technical mastery / direct experience of coated fabrics including:
* Various test methods and requirements for coated fabrics
* Various manufacturing processes used to produce various coated fabrics.

Education:  Quality Assurance Engineer
* Bachelors

Travel Requirements:  Quality Assurance Engineer
 * The work location will **Rutherfordton NC** with potential travel to Hartford CT, Phoenix AZ, and Bangalore India.
 * Maybe travel once but will try to avoid that being the case
