Contract Sales Tax Administrator – East Aurora, NY (Onsite)
A leading U.S.-based Shared Services Center is seeking a Sales Tax Administrator to support its Indirect Tax team in East Aurora, NY. This onsite contract role is ideal for someone with a background in accounting or finance who enjoys working with tax filings, regulatory compliance, and interdepartmental collaboration.
In this position, you’ll play a key role in the timely and accurate submission of various sales and use tax filings, assist with audits, and support additional non-income tax reporting requirements such as business licenses, annual reports, and unclaimed property. You’ll be part of a collaborative environment, working with both onshore and offshore teams, while reporting directly to the Tax Manager. Key Responsibilities
Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns
Support non-income tax audits by gathering documentation and responding to inquiries
Assist in the preparation of various non-income-related filings, including business licenses, annual reports, and unclaimed property reports
Review and verify exemption documentation submitted by business units and suppliers
Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, internal controls, and GAAP
Maintain high levels of accuracy, organization, and responsiveness in all tax-related activities
Deliver efficient, high-quality service to both internal departments and external partners
Qualifications
Experience in accounting, finance, or a related field
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments
Demonstrated growth mindset, openness to feedback, and a willingness to learn
