Vehicle Simulation Associate Level Software Engineer
International Trainers has an opening for an associate level software engineer. This is an excellent opportunity to work with Aircrew devices used to train pilots how to fly and operate the various systems. The software team functions as a large scale Agile Team and is responsible for developing the aircraft simulation and system software for International customers. This development includes incorporating the newest aircraft technologies into high-fidelity integrated simulators to support international customer's Aircrew Training needs. The job covers the complete software development life cycle from requirements analysis through integration, test and sell-off to the customer.
Job Description:
Assists with the development, documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems. Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system. Assists with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met. Supports software project management and software supplier management functions. Selects, tailors and deploys processes and tools; establishes metrics. Performs software research and trade studies. Troubleshoots software issues. Works under general supervision.
BASIC REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or higher required.
Agile Software Process will be utilized, so experie Agile implementations is desirable.
Knowledge of C++ and Object Oriented Methodologies is required.
Knowledge or experience with Ada, C, and/or FORTRAN a plus.
Linux knowledge a plus.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Defense aerospace software experience
Research and development experience in Network Systems programming
Experience with requirements, design, development, and test of software systems products
Experience working on an Agile team using Agile methodologies
Experience with Linux and windows development
Experience with Git
SECURITY CLEARANCE:
This position requires the ability to obtain a prestart Interim US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
Education:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
