Contract Systems Engineer – Onsite in Pleasanton, CA
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Systems Engineer to join our team on a full-time, onsite contract basis in Pleasanton, CA. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-impact engineering projects in a collaborative laboratory environment. Occasional travel (approximately 5%) to Santa Clara may be required based on project needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct laboratory experiments using established protocols and scientific principles after an initial onboarding to internal processes.
Ensure the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of experimental data and maintain thorough records of all findings.
Communicate results clearly and regularly to supervisors or project leads, especially when encountering significant findings or roadblocks.
Evaluate the performance of new equipment and explore the effectiveness of emerging technical approaches.
Choose appropriate techniques to address design and testing challenges, offering sound engineering recommendations.
Analyze data to assess validity and alignment with product requirements.
Contribute to brainstorming sessions to explore alternative solutions to engineering problems.
Collaborate with and provide direction to technicians and support staff as needed for project execution.
Perform all tasks in accordance with internal safety protocols and industry regulations (e.g., OSHA).
Support other duties and assignments as directed by management.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering or Bioengineering (required)
Experience: 0–3 years of hands-on experience in an engineering or lab-based role
Preferred: Previous work experience in the medical device industry
